Noida engineer's 'dead' wife and daughter were found alive after five years with the help of Aadhaar OTP. A big revelation was made due to police negligence. Both were found in Jodhpur, now investigation has been ordered.

 

A story from UP's Noida city which is no less than a thriller film - Noida engineer Awadhesh Sharma's life turned upside down when an OTP exposed a 5-year-old lie.

July 2020: The whole family suddenly disappeared

Engineer Awadhesh Sharma's wife Anju and daughter, who lived in Barola village in Noida, suddenly went missing on 3 July 2020. The family was from Firozabad and there was no information about any domestic discord before the incident. This disappearance was completely shocking.

The engineer was disappointed by the indifference of the police

Awadhesh immediately lodged a complaint with the police, but the police did not take the matter seriously. For the first few weeks, Awadhesh himself searched for his family, but did not get any success.

 

Dead bodies found on Delhi railway track, cremated without DNA test

On 20 July 2020, the bodies of a woman and a girl were recovered from the railway track in Shahdara, Delhi. In the chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic, the police identified the bodies as Anju and her daughter without DNA testing. The family also confirmed the identity from the clothes and photos, but Awadhesh was not sure.

Avadhesh's doubt: "I never believed she was dead"

Avadhesh said that he was not ready to believe in his heart that his wife and daughter could commit suicide. He filed a petition in the High Court for reinvestigation of the case, but the investigation could not reach any conclusion. Socially he started being seen as a murderer.

In 2025, a simple OTP gave the clue

On 23 April 2025, Avadhesh received a message that changed his life. This OTP message was linked to his wife Anju's Aadhaar card. He was shocked to see this and immediately contacted UIDAI.

 

Disclosure of three mobile numbers which were active from Jodhpur

With the help of UIDAI, it was found that there had been recent activities related to Anju's Aadhaar, which involved three mobile numbers. These numbers were found to be active from Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Police did location tracking and then found the family in Jodhpur

On 2 May 2025, Noida and Jodhpur police teams conducted a joint raid and recovered Anju and her daughter from Jodhpur. Both of them were completely safe and Anju was working in a beauty parlor.

Anju and her daughter left on their own in search of a new life

During interrogation, Anju told that she had decided to make a new beginning on her own. Avadhesh alleged that Anju had relationships with many men on social media apps, and fed up with this, she left with her daughter.

 

Police accused of negligence, departmental inquiry begins

The Noida Police Commissioner has ordered a departmental inquiry against the then station in-charge, investigating officer and ACP. Declaring the bodies as Anju and Mansi without DNA testing is being considered a major negligence.

Avadhesh's statement: "Aadhaar OTP proved that I am innocent"

Avadhesh said, "In these five years, I lost everything—respect, confidence, peace. People considered me a murderer. Today this OTP has revealed the truth. I am grateful to UIDAI, Prime Minister Modi and the M-Aadhaar app."
