In a further escalation, Pakistan boldly attacked civilian neighbourhoods in Amritsar, Punjab, using a drone early on Saturday morning, but the Indian air defence cannons stopped the strike. According to the information, Pakistan targeted people with Byker YIHA III Kamikaze drones, which were destroyed in midair around five in the morning.

The drone’s flight above Amritsar has been captured on camera by the Indian Army. Additionally, the army posted images of the drone’s wreckage after its downing.

“Pakistan’s blatant escalation with drone strikes and other munitions continues along our western borders,” the Additional Directorate General of Public Information said in a post on X. In one such instance, many enemy-armed drones were seen flying above Khasa Cantt, Amritsar, at about five in the morning today. Our air defence forces immediately attacked and destroyed the enemy drones.

“It is intolerable that Pakistan is making such a flagrant effort to undermine India’s sovereignty and put people in peril. The message went on to say, “The Indian Army will thwart enemy designs.”

Following the Pahalgam terror incident on April 22, which was carried out by the Pakistan-backed Resistance Front (TRF), tensions between India and Pakistan increased. In the Baisaran valley of Pahalgam, 26 villagers were murdered because of their religious affiliation.

In reaction, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and destroyed the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen terror groups’ headquarters, camps, and launch pads.

Pakistan used increased unprovoked and indiscriminate shooting, followed by drone and missile assaults against Indian bases, airports, and other vital infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Punjab, despite India’s assurance that it would not target military or civilian targets. The air defence systems stopped the majority of these attempts. Since Pakistan has begun attacking civilians, the situation has become worse. More than a dozen innocent people have been killed so far by Pakistan’s drone and mortar operations.
