The order of the government
On May 9, CCPA has issued some rules for 13 online shopping platforms, including Amazon and Flipkart. These rules are very important in the current current situation. The government has asked these companies to stop the sale of illegal Walk-talkies. According to a report, the government has said that the Central Counter Protection Authority (CCPA) has sent a notice to 13 large online marketplaces to stop the sale of Walkie-talkies on their website. Notices sent to these companies
The companies sent by the government include Amazon, Flipkart, Misho, OLX, Trade India, Facebook, Indiamart, Vardan Mart, Jyomart, Krishna Mart, Chimia, Talk Pro Walkie Talky and Masquamy Toy. The government has sent notice to these companies to stop selling the Walkie-talkies illegally.
This action is focused on the sale of walkie-talkies who do not know the right frequency, no license or those who do not have the required government approval (device type approval-ETA). All of this is a violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Considering these rules and security of the citizens, the government has sent this notice.
Union Food and Consumer Transaction Minister Prahlad Joshi had said that the sale of illegal wireless devices could be a major threat not only for law but also for national security. He said that this violations violates many laws including Consumer Consumer Act, Indian Telegraph law and wireless telegraphy law. Which can be punished by companies. Moreover, the lives of the citizens can also be threatened.

Minister Prahlad Joshi has also said that the CCPA will soon issue a formal rules under Section 18 (2) (L) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The purpose of which will be to follow the rules in the online marketplace and strengthen customer safety. He said that the vendors have been instructed to strictly follow all the applicable rules to protect the customer’s rights and prevent illegal trade.
