Just hours after a ceasefire was declared on May 10, Pakistan once again violated the mutual understanding, triggering widespread outrage across India. The repeated provocation has reignited tensions and drawn sharp criticism from several quarters.
Former Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan took to social media to condemn Pakistan's actions. In a strongly worded post, he wrote, “Ghatiya desh ne fir apna ghatiyapan poori duniya ke aage dikha diya. #Pakistan”

Former cricketer Virender Sehwag also reacted sharply. Taking to his official social media handle of X (formerly Twitter), Sehwag shared a photo that has a text saying, "kutte ki dum tedi ki tedi hi rehti hai." The saying is a a well-known Hindi idiom implying that some things never change, no matter how much effort is made.

During a press conference, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that despite a mutual agreement to maintain peace, Pakistan violated the ceasefire by resorting to cross-border firing and drone attacks. The MEA confirmed that the Indian Army responded swiftly and effectively, neutralizing all threats.
In light of the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the Indian Premier League 2025 on May 9 for one week. While there is speculation that the tournament may resume soon, no official confirmation has been provided by the board yet.
