According to Znews, China Times reported that during a promotional event for his upcoming film “Vital Signs,” Koo shared the details of the accident, recalling that while crossing the street, he was struck by a small bus. The impact sent him flying over 10 meters, causing him to lose consciousness on the spot. He was subsequently rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, his injuries were not severe, and after receiving stitches and treatment, he was discharged.

Last month, Koo announced that he was planning surgery for two retinal holes in his right eye, which had been causing floaters and discomfort in his vision. To ease the pain, he had been wearing sunglasses.

At 55, Koo started his acting career in TVB dramas, gaining widespread fame for his roles in “The Condor Heroes,” “Detective Investigation Files IV,” and “A Step into the Past.” His performances in the late 1990s helped him establish a loyal fan base across Asia.

“Vital Signs,” which was filmed in 2021 and is expected to be released soon, follows the lives of two paramedics as they navigate the challenges of their job, according to Beijing Times. A less polished version of the film was shown at festivals in 2023.
