Kia Carens Variants Discontinued In India, Product Line Restricted After Carens Clavis Debut

After successfully introducing the latest Carens avatar under the Carens Clavis badge, Kia has discontinued an overall of eight variants of the outgoing avatar. It has been reported that only Premium(O) is left in the range, while other variants such as Prestige Plus (O), Premium, Gravity, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Prestige (O), Luxury Plus, and X-Line, have been removed from the lineup.

The company has not released any official statement about the same as yet. However, some reports say that the latest offering, Carens Clavis, has replaced the outgoing trims and will sit in the position with more advanced and premium features.

Price Tag

Talking about the Kia Carens Premium(O) trim, it comes with a price tag of Rs 11.41 lakh (ex-showroom). It misses out on a long list of features compared to the top models. It includes automatic climate control, ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS, alloy wheels, ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery, cruise control, push button start/stop, a 6-seat layout and a sunroof.

Engine Options

The variant same engine options as the top models. It can be purchased in three engine options – 1.5-litre petrol engine, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel unit, and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor. The former generates a maximum output of 160 160hp, while the latter offers a maximum of 116 hp and 160 hp, respectively. These units are not available in an automatic gearbox.
