Chinese tech company Baidu is developing an AI system that will help humans understand the "language" of animals. Baidu recently filed a patent with the China National Intellectual Property Administration, which mentions the technology of converting animal voices, their behavior, and physical signals into human language by analyzing them.

According to Baidu, this AI system will first record the sounds of animals like meowing, barking, etc. Along with this, their way of walking and physical activities like heartbeat will also be measured. Then, by combining all this data, AI will guess whether the animal is happy, scared, or hungry. After this, the system will convert these emotions into human words or sentences, which will make a deeper dialogue possible between humans and animals than ever before.

Baidu has said in its patent that this technology will "deepen emotional communication and understanding between animals and humans and improve the accuracy and efficiency of communication between species." The company clarified that at present, this project is in the research phase, and it has not been decided when it will be launched. Baidu is not the only company working in this direction. Scientists around the world are trying to understand the communication system of animals with the help of AI. For example, Project CETI (Cetacean Translation Initiative) is working on understanding the conversation of whales. At the same time, another initiative called the Earth Species Project is moving towards decoding the "language" of animals.
