Kuwait's General Department of Residency Affairs Investigations has arrested 440 individuals for violations of residency and labour laws, as part of an extensive security campaign conducted across various governorates between April 30 and May 9.
The crackdown forms part of an integrated security strategy aimed at identifying and apprehending illegal workers, monitoring the status of residency violators, and addressing the wider social and legal challenges linked to unregulated employment. The campaign also seeks to uphold the country’s regulations governing labour and residency, ensuring compliance across all sectors.
Authorities confirmed that legal action has been taken against those arrested, who have since been referred to the competent authorities for further procedures in accordance with the law.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to continuing these operations nationwide. In a firm statement, it emphasized that enforcement efforts will apply to all parties involved in violations—both workers and employers—without exception. The ministry urged individuals and businesses to comply with Kuwait's labour and residency laws to avoid legal consequences.
These ongoing efforts highlight Kuwait’s resolve to maintain order within its labour market and reinforce the rule of law across the nation.
