Famous and talented Pakistani singer Shae Gill has again dominated the headlines, but this time for her nationalism rather than her singing. When there was a recent standoff between Pakistan and India, Shae Gill used her Instagram story to honor the Pakistan Armed Forces and compliment the Pakistan nation for its bravery and valour.

Shae Gill, whose Pasoori captured hearts on both sides of the border, is now facing flak from some extremist circles in India. Following her public declaration of support for the Pakistan Army on Instagram, Indian social media users went on a rampage criticizing her, going to the extent of asking for her account to be blocked.

In her tale, the singer had posted:

“I pay homage to our brave forces and brave nation who demonstrated unparalleled bravery in the face of the enemy. The martyrdom of innocent children is unfortunate, but I believe they are now at peace.”

On social media platform “X” (formerly Twitter), Indian users shared screenshots of Shae Gill’s Instagram story and reacted strongly. Some even shared lists of Pakistani artists, urging their boycott.

It must be mentioned that Pakistani celebrities have been criticized like this before; previously, big names such as Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Hania Aamir, Sajal Aly, and several others have seen their Instagram account blocked in India.

Earlier, Shae Gill, the Pakistani singer known for her record-breaking song “Pasoori” with Ali Sethi and her recent collaboration with Asim Azhar on “Bulleya,” is now teaming up with Turkish singer Evdeki Saat for a new song called “One Love” for Coke Studio Global season 2.

Evdeki Saat gained popularity in the alternative pop scene with his song “Uzunlar V1,” which has amassed over 120 million streams on Spotify since its release in 2020.

Expressing his excitement about the collaboration, Saat said that being part of Coke Studio as a musician is always thrilling.
