According to Znews, Swamp reported that Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Jing shared details about Lau’s love life during an online program. Wong revealed that dating a high-profile star like Lau is no easy task. During their courtship, Lau and Chu had to go to remote places where they couldn’t be recognized, and sometimes, they were forced to go months without seeing each other. At times, they could only meet once a year.
The filmmaker also highlighted Chu’s unwavering trust and sacrifices for Lau, noting that despite working with many beautiful actresses, Lau has remained loyal to her throughout their relationship. This trust has been a key factor in their bond.
Lau, 63, is recognized as one of the “Four Heavenly Kings” of Cantopop, a title given to the four male singers who dominated pop culture in the 1990s. His fellow “Kings” include Aaron Kwok, Jacky Cheung, and Leon Lai.
Chu, 59, reportedly hails from a wealthy family known for owning a seafood restaurant, as reported by Jayne Stars.
The couple tied the knot in 2008 and has since kept their marriage private.
According to The Straits TimesLau reportedly invested 100 million Malaysian ringgit (US$23.2 million) in a private jet to protect Chu’s annual trips to her hometown of Penang. He also hired four bodyguards and three nannies to ensure the safety and privacy of his wife and daughter.
