Today we will highlight the story of an actress who captivated audience with her undeniable charm and beauty during the 1950s. Despite achieving fame name and admiration across she survived her last days in complete isolation. Born into a culturally rich family her name was Nalini Jaywant. She entered the industry at the mere age of 14 due to her immense passion for dance and acting. Her spark caught the attention of producer Chimanlal Desai who then offered her lead role in the film Radhika (1941). Her beauty and skills were said to be ahead of even the legendary Bollywood actress Madhubala. Nalini continued to impress viewers with her captivating performances in films like Anokha Pyar (1948) Aankhen (1950) Samadhi (1950) Nastik (1954) Munimji (1955) Hum Sab Chor Hain (1956) and Kala Pani (1958). Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar too adored Nalini and described her the greatest actress he ever worked with. While her professional life soared high her personal life faced many challenges. She got married twice. She first tied knot with director Virendra Desai the son of producer Chimanlal Desai. After separation she later married actor Prabhu Dayal and it was the beginning of her happily-ever-after. Unfortunately after few years of marriage Prabhu died leaving Nalini completely alone and devastated. According to reports after Prabhus death Nalini went into isolation and entirely withdrew herself from the society. Neighbours spotted that she barely left her home and her isolated stated continued until the end of her life. On December 22 2010 Nalini passed away and her body wasnt discovered for three days. The police retrieved her body at her home and reports claim that none of her close relatives were present at the time. She was cousin of Kajol’s grandmother Shobhana Samarth marking her Kajols great-aunt. Shobhana was the mother of prolific actresses Tanuja and Nutan. With over 70 films to her credit Nalini Jaywants extraordinary career continues to live in the hearts of her fans.
