It is being told that RBI is going to cut the rate by 0.50 percent from next month i.e. June till Diwali. According to reports, RBI has a review meeting between 4 and 5 June next month. Due to this, MPC can take an important decision and give good news to the people.
If reports are to be believed, a 0.25 percent cut has already been decided by the RBI MPC. There can be another cut in the repo rate by the RBI in the meeting to be held in the first week of August or the last week of September. Also, let us tell you that this year Diwali is also going to be celebrated on October 20. In such a situation, the public can see this cut as a Diwali gift.
Diwali Gift
RBI had cut the rate by 0.25 percent in the month of February this year, while after the meeting held in the month of April, the repo rate was again cut by 0.25 percent. SBI had said in its report that during the financial year 2025-26, RBI can cut up to 125 basis points.
SBI has said in a report released in the first week of this month that there is a possibility of a cut of 0.75 percent in the MPC to be held in the months of June and August, while during the second half of the financial year 2026, this cut is possible up to 0.50 percent.
what is repo rate
Repo rate is the rate at which loans are given to banks by RBI. If there is a reduction in the repo rate, it directly affects the common people, because after that the bank loan provided by the banks becomes cheaper. Also, the EMI on people’s loans also becomes cheaper. Due to which home loans and vehicle loans also become cheaper.
