He accused his wife and mother-in-law of being responsible for his suicide in a video he shot and a message he left behind before ending his life. The police have notified his family and taken the corpse into custody. Additionally, they are detaining certain people in order to question them.

As an assistant teacher at Lakhaniyapur Primary School in the Sagaran block of Sitapur district, Kovind had written a suicide note and produced a video in which he described his situation. Lakshmi Kushwaha was his wife.

His mother-in-law, Ramjati Devi, and wife, Lakshmi, are accused of tormenting him financially, emotionally, and physically over the last year. By fabricating a case of domestic abuse and dowry harassment, they were torturing him. He said that two or three times a month, he had to drop out of school to go to Ghazipur, which is 500 kilometers from Sitapur, for court procedures. This infuriated him, so he took his own life. He attributed his death on his mother-in-law and wife.

On Friday, Kovind Kumar was scheduled to appear in court. He had made the 500-kilometer journey from Sitapur to Ghazipur for the hearing, but he never made it to the court. The lawyer and his family members started to worry a lot. Meanwhile, Kovind was said to have killed himself by hanging himself on a tree limb close to the Andhau Airstrip. When the police came on time, they removed the corpse and placed it under arrest.
