Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh ordered the establishment of integrated AYUSH institutions in each state division, offering all three AYUSH systems—homeopathy, unani, and ayurveda—on a single campus.
He underlined that this project will support the growth of the future health-based education system in addition to fortifying the AYUSH medical system.
The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made in mission mode to make traditional healthcare systems accessible to the general public at a high-level review meeting of the AYUSH department held here on Saturday. The meeting also highlighted the government’s commitment to increasing access to AYUSH services.
In addition to calling for the prompt completion of the hiring process in order to fill all authorized academic and medical positions, he directed that the creation of naturopathy and yoga centers be made obligatory in all AYUSH institutions.
The Chief Minister said, “Health and Wellness Centers should be established in every district of the state and may be operated through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode or through government initiatives.”
He ordered that all current departmental projects around the state be expedited for early completion and underlined that the development of AYUSH University must be finished on schedule without sacrificing quality.
The Chief Minister encouraged investors to look at potential in the AYUSH sphere and encouraged private sector engagement. In order to guarantee high levels of instruction and healthcare delivery, he also mandated that private AYUSH schools and hospitals adhere to strict quality requirements in facilities, labs, libraries, teachers, and personnel.
According to the Chief Minister, “All AYUSH institutions of the state should promote the use of special Ayurvedic techniques like Panchkarma, which are very effective in treating serious diseases.” Given the popularity of AYUSH medicine, it is time for India’s traditional medicine to be established on a worldwide scale and presented scientifically.
The Chief Minister gave the order to start planning right away in order to make International Yoga Day a success. He underlined that Yoga Day events have to take place in every state division, district, gram panchayat, municipal body, and government agency. “Trained master trainers must be available in every district to teach yoga to the general public in order to ensure the success of this initiative,” he said.
In order to guarantee a consistent supply of necessary medications to all AYUSH hospitals and prevent any patient from experiencing a lack of access to medical care, the Chief Minister also recommended signing memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with prominent Ayurvedic manufacturing companies like Dabur, Baidyanath, and Patanjali.
The Chief Minister was told at the meeting by representatives of the AYUSH department that the state now possesses 1,598 homeopathic, 259 unani, and 2,127 ayurvedic medical facilities, all of which are essential to providing AYUSH services to the general people.
The Chief Minister directed that resources be distributed in accordance with these institutions’ needs and that ongoing oversight of these institutions be conducted to improve their efficacy.
“AYUSH represents a holistic approach to health, in addition to being a symbol of India’s rich medical tradition,” he stated. In order to establish Uttar Pradesh as a national and international leader in the area of AYUSH, he emphasized that all efforts should be coordinated, organized, and carried out promptly.
