Patna – Urban schools in Bihar have once again suffered a setback. The Education Department has made it clear that in the third phase of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), posting of teachers will be done only in rural areas. Earlier, in two phases, urban areas could not get teachers and now the same picture is being repeated in the third phase.

In the new portal which has been prepared by the Education Department for the appointment of the third phase, the vacant posts of urban areas have already been locked. This simply means that this time also schools in cities will not get any benefit from the new appointment.

Huge shortage of teachers in urban schools

There is already a huge shortage of teachers in the urban areas of Bihar. Especially in the subjects like science, mathematics and English, teachers are being affected by the non -availability of teachers. In many schools, there is a compulsion to teach many subjects to the same teacher. Education experts say that continuously ignoring cities is negatively impacting the urban education system.

Priority to rural areas

The education department argues that the government wants to give priority to rural education, so that the children there can also get quality education. This is the reason that in the third phase, all new teachers will be appointed only in rural schools. The department believes that the need of teachers in rural areas is still much more than in urban areas.

What will happen next?

At present, the education department seems to be adamant on its decision. The third phase posting process is going to start soon and all appointments will be made for rural areas. Now it has to be seen when the government takes steps towards solving the problems of urban schools.
