This is probably one of the most important cars Ferrari have ever made and the reason for that is simply the vast engine underneath the clamshell bonnet. The engine for the new 12 Cilindri is a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 and that is rare while not having any turbo or electric assistance in the form of a hybrid. It is very fast though at 820bhp but this car is much more than just raw speed.
It is a Ferrari with a larger V12 and that has been crucial to the brand while unlike others, they have not yet gone the hybrid way for its GT which is V12 while elsewhere the range has. To do that, Ferrari has heavily invested and done a lot to steer clear of emissions which makes engines like these a rare thing today. The engine also redlines to 9,500 rpm which is very high in the rev range. It also powers the rear wheels and standard is an 8-speed dual clutch automatic.
The bonnet opens backwards while the design when seen in the flesh is stunning with a clear influence to its past including the Daytona. It is a big change from the 812 Superfast but that gels well with the GT status of this car. That said, there are lots of active aero touches and lightweight materials as you would expect but the design is a talking point with the black strip at the front which is only available in black plus the wheels are forged too in aluminium.
The cabin is more tech forward though and not retro but there are three screens, loads of new features while space is surprisingly abundant for two passengers. There are functional bits and it is a usable daily supercar save for the size and the long nose but it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus all the gadgets you want. Of course, with a flagship Ferrari you can customise the car with many options.
The price for a car like this does not matter as a lot depends on options but cars for India, are well equipped including the car as seen here which is heavily loaded with options. With high-end Ferrari cars, more often than not it is the availability rather than the price since these cars are highly sought after with limited allocations.
