IPL 2025: RCB-SRH game moved to Lucknow (Source: X)
Match 65 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between and Sunrisers Hyderabad has been shifted from Bengaluru to Lucknow. There will be no change to the timing of the fixture. It will be played on Friday, May 23, at 7:30 pm (IST).
The last-minute change was prompted by a yellow alert issued by the Bengaluru meteorological department, forecasting "heavy to very heavy rainfall" through Thursday, May 22. This means that RCB will play their final couple of league games at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium (May 23 against SRH and May 27 against LSG).
RCB were informed of this development late on Tuesday afternoon. This came just prior to an optional training session which they had scheduled. Since that time, the team has not strayed outdoors owing to recent incessant showers which have consumed several parts of Bengaluru. Had the change in venue not been made, there could have been potential complications for RCB's quest in finishing in the top two.
Mullanpur, Ahmedabad to host playoffs
In another significant update, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has finalised Mullanpur and Ahmedabad as the two venues for the playoffs of . Qualifier 1 (May 29) and the Eliminator (May 30) will be played at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium. The Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium will play host to Qualifier 2 (June 1) and the final (June 3).
According to the original schedule prior to the temporary suspension of the tournament, Hyderabad and Kolkata were the two venues set to host the four playoff matches. As of May 20, Gujarat Titans, RCB, and Punjab Kings have gained sure-shot entry into the playoffs. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians will battle it out for the fourth slot.
