Trinamool Congress delegation to visit J&K areas affected by Pakistani shelling

Synopsis

A five-member Trinamool Congress delegation will visit Srinagar, Poonch, and Rajouri from May 21 to 23 to express solidarity with victims of the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack and cross-border shelling. The team, including MPs and a West Bengal minister, will meet affected families and assess the situation in areas hit by Pakistan Army fire that killed 13 people.

A five-member Trinamool Congress delegation will visit Srinagar, Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu & Kashmir following the Pahalgam terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor. The delegation - MPs Derek O'Brien, Md Nadimul Haque, Sagarika Ghose and Mamata Thakur and senior West Bengal minister Manas Bhuniya - will visit from Wednesday to Friday.

The team will visit the areas which were affected by the recent artillery and mortar shelling by the Pakistan Army and express solidarity with the people of the region who lost their loved ones.

"Under the guidance of AITC Chairperson @MamataOfficial, a 5-member delegation will be proceeding to Srinagar, Poonch, and Rajouri. The delegation will be in the region from May 21 to 23 to express solidarity with the people affected by cross-border attacks, and share the grief of the families who have lost their loved ones," AITC posted on X.

On May 7, at least 13 people, including four children and a soldier, were killed and 57 injured in cross-border shelling from the Pakistan Army, targeting forward villages along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
