DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo said that the report was made about the kidnapping of 31-year-old Mr. Sumer Anjan Behra by unidentified individuals. With assistance from CCTV evidence and interviews with locals, the local IIC and special squad acted quickly after receiving the report.

According to investigations, the victim and a few of the accused were previously involved in a financial fraud case involving Sher Market Trading Firm, a trading company in the Kharavel Nagar neighborhood of Bhubaneswar that had promised large profits to a number of investors between 2019 and 2020. According to investigators, the firm’s failure resulted in large losses and suspected schemes to extort money from investors.

Additional leads led the inquiry to the regions of Kendrapada and Indrabada. The victim was being held against his will in order to force him to return the money when the police came to his aid.

Numerous people, including a minor, have been taken into custody. One of the primary suspects is Rajesh, a Kendrapada-based professional gym owner who is suspected of enlisting the help of his patrons in the murder.
