From railway ticket booking to live information, general tickets, platform passes, food or order or lodging complaints-now different apps will not be required for this. Indian Railways has launched the Swarail app, covering all these services in one place, which is being called the ‘Super App’ of the Railways.
What is Swarail app?
Swarail has been developed by Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). This app is available in beta version on both Android and iOS platforms. Passengers can login to their current IRCTC account. The aim of the app is to provide all railway services to the passengers on the same platform.
One app, many things
Passengers will be able to do through the Swarail app:
- Reservation ticket booking
- General and platform ticket
- Watching live status of train
- Ordering online food
- Complaint through Rail Madad
Now passengers will not need to download many different apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, NTES, or Rail Madad.
Will IRCTC app be closed?
No, the IRCTC app will not be closed, but with the arrival of Swarail, its load will definitely be reduced. Especially when the IRCTC app gets slowed at the festive season and immediate booking, Swarail will handle this pressure. “IRCTC will now act as a central platform, while Swarail will be a smart and simple option for passengers.”
What will be the change in future?
It is likely that in the coming time, apps like UTS and NTES will be closed and their facilities will be absorbed into the swarail. This will not only ease the passengers, but will also make the system more integrated and smart.
For Delhi Metro, do ticket booking from this app, will get freedom from long lines
New age features will also be included
Will be found in Swarail:
- Biometric login
- Wallet support
- User-friendly interface
Now if someone has taken your seat or the toilet is dirty, then there is no need for quarrel. Enter a complaint through Rail Madad and expect immediate action.
