Good Morning Britain's Robert Rinder is teaming up with the dazzling Elizabeth Hurley for a brand-new enigmatic reality series on .

Dubbed The Inheritance, the show has been teased as a mix of "part Knives Out, part Succession".

Revealed earlier in the year, the programme will see 13 strangers called to an opulent country house where they must vie for a slice of a fortune bequeathed in the will of The Deceased.

While the identity of The Deceased was initially shrouded in mystery, Channel 4 has now unveiled that Elizabeth will portray the elegant benefactor.

However, clinching the cash won't be straightforward, with The Deceased having devised "a mischievous game to ensure only the best players can get their hands on her inheritance", the series outline suggests, reports .

Elizabeth isn't going solo in her endeavours, as GMB's own Robert Rinder will feature as her Executor and trusted legal adviser.

Rob commented: "This is a high-stakes strategy game served with a side of scheming and sabotage.

"As The Executor I enforce the rules, keep the chaos in check – more or less – and make sure our players are deserving of every glittering penny left by our dearly departed deceased, played by the iconic Elizabeth Hurley."

Elizabeth added: "It's a thrill to be part of this clever game, playing The Deceased; it all takes place on her huge estate in the English countryside and she dresses to the nines in every scene. Tune in this autumn to catch The Inheritance on Channel 4."

Players must put their differences aside and work together to tick off a series of tasks set by the late aristocrat, using their skills, intelligence, and a healthy dose of cunning to succeed.

However, in a twist worthy of creators, contestants will be forced to fight it out for the cash, with just one person set to reap the rewards of their hard work.

As the group navigates each assignment, they will need to decide who among them is most deserving of the cash. This is where things are likely to get heated, as players must convince their fellow contestants to hand over the dosh.

The Inheritance is coming to Channel 4 this autumn
