
A major fire broke out early on Friday morning at a steel manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, triggering an immediate response from emergency services. The incident occurred in the plant’s second Steel Melting Shop (SMS), severely disrupting operations and raising concerns over extensive material damage.

Officials report that the blaze began in the Steel Melting System II unit, though the precise cause has not yet been determined, as per a report on Manorama. Emergency response teams were quickly dispatched to the scene, and firefighting operations have been ongoing as crews work to contain the flames. Efforts are also underway to assess potential hazards and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the facility, reported NDTV.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have acknowledged that the financial impact could be significant. Search and containment operations remain active as officials work to bring the situation under full control and evaluate the damage caused by the fire.
