Olly Murs has been forced to cancel his upcoming weekend performances after a . The singer, who was thrilling fans with his top hits at the Ovo arena, had to stop the show after just 20 minutes as he struggled vocally. After performing only five songs, Murs made the difficult decision to halt his 2025 Arena Tour concert, which also featured the band Blue.

The pop sensation has since announced that he won't be able to proceed with his planned shows in Manchester and Birmingham. He was scheduled to appear at Manchester's AO Arena tonight and at Birmingham's bp Pulse Live on Saturday evening. Murs expressed his regret in a heartfelt statement: "30 minutes into my set in Glasgow I lost my voice and unfortunately had to leave the stage midway through the show. "This has never happened before and not something I take lightly. I'm sorry to all the fans who came out to the show last night and am forever grateful for your support.", reports Manchester Evening News.

"To everyone in Manchester and Birmingham I'm deeply sorry, but am unfortunately going to have to cancel my shows this weekend.

"I have contracted a respiratory infection and have been instructed to go on a strict 48 hour voice rest by the doctor to ensure no further damage to my vocal cords.

"I have been enjoying this tour so much, and am so sorry to let down my fans - but have to put my health first. I'm hoping to be fighting fit in a few days to finish this amazing 15 year celebratory tour with a bang."

No details were disclosed about his show at London's O2 on Sunday, May 25.

In a heartfelt Instagram update, the star extended his apologies to Glasgow fans and shared his feelings of "panicking and worrying on what to do".

He expressed: "speaking in front of you last night and seeing people upset was hard to see but from the bottom of my heart I'm sorry but I had to put my health first."

Further expressing his sentiments, he said, "I love you guys and I think anyone who knows me knows how much I love being on stage and performing. I'm hurting big time."

On stage, he candidly addressed the audience: "This has never happened to me before but you can hear my voice is going. I want to give you the concert you deserve so I can't go on."

With his next words, he reassured the crowd, saying, "I'm going to come back, but I need to go now."

What followed was a stark silence across the arena as the lights were raised and the confused audience departed.
