Delhi University (DU) is starting a special educational initiative for military personnel. From the new session 2025-26, DU will start the BSc Nuclear Medicine Technology course at Army Hospital, Delhi Cantt.

Delhi University (DU) is moving ahead with another important educational initiative. From the new academic session 2025-26, DU is going to teach nuclear medicine technology to military personnel. Under this, a three-year special course called BSc Nuclear Medicine Technology will be started at Army Hospital, Delhi Cantt, which will also include a one-year internship. This course was given the green signal in the 1275th meeting of the Executive Council of DU on Friday.

The objective of this course is to train the personnel of the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services (Armed Forces Medical Services) in the field of nuclear medicine so that they can work closely with doctors and handle the responsibilities related to this technology. Admission to this course will be given to those military personnel who have completed at least 6 years of service, have a good service record, and have obtained at least 50% marks in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany/Zoology, and English in 12th.

Tribute to the martyrs

At the beginning of the meeting, under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh, tribute was paid to the martyrs in the Pahalgam terror attack. After this, a proposal to support Operation Sindoor of the Government of India was also passed by the university. Many other important decisions were also taken in the meeting. Rules for deciding the seniority of teachers were also approved. Now if the qualification of two teachers is the same, then seniority will be decided based on age. If the age is also the same, then the decision will be made through the API score. Some members objected to this rule, but the council passed it.

What did the Registrar say

Apart from this, MA course in journalism has also been approved, which will be taught in Hindi and English departments. With the inauguration of the studio in the southern campus, the way for its launch has been cleared. DU Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta said that under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), now students will be given a certificate, diploma or degree even if they leave the course midway, which has made education more flexible and student-friendly.
