World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22 March so that we can all be explained to the importance of water. Water is an important part of our life because the human body is made up of about 60% water. We lose water through sweat, urine and breath every day. Therefore, it is very important to drink enough water to keep the body hydrated. How much water should be drunk throughout the day?
According to US National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine:

Women should drink about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of water daily.

Men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of water daily.

Apart from water, it also includes tea, juice and food fluids. Usually we get about 20% water from our food. This means that we must drink at least 8 glasses (about 2 liters) of clean water every day so that our body continues to work properly.

In which circumstances should the amount of water be increased?
Physical activity: If you exercise regularly or participate in a long race like a marathon, more water comes out of your body due to sweat. In such a situation, it is very important to increase water intake.

Hot weather: When the temperature outside increases, thirst is quick and water is also needed. Take special care of your hydration in summer.

Health status and medicines: Some diseases like thyroid, kidney, liver or heart problem or if you take some medicines, your body may have a different water need. Especially it is important to pay attention to the amount of water on the intake of drugs like NSAIDS, Opiates and Antidepressant.
