In a tragic incident in northeast Delhi’s Sunder Nagri area, two minor siblings died while undergoing treatment after a CNG cylinder exploded at a godown used for storing and repairing old cylinders. The blast occurred on Saturday afternoon, leaving a third sibling and a worker injured.

According to Delhi Police, a call was received at around 4:33 PM at Nand Nagri police station reporting a blast in K-Block of Sunder Nagri. Upon arrival, officers found that the explosion had taken place inside a warehouse that stored and repaired old CNG cylinders.

During a repair operation, one of the cylinders exploded with such force that it shattered the iron gate of the godown. Tragically, three children—siblings aged 4, 7, and 9—who were playing outside the premises, were caught in the blast. They sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts, the 4-year-old and 7-year-old later died during treatment. The 9-year-old remains hospitalized.

A 25-year-old worker inside the godown, identified as Arshad, was also injured in the explosion and is currently undergoing treatment.
