
For many of us, going on is an opportunity to wind down and relax, but picking where to go can be a stressful experience and you might find yourself overwhelmed with choice. has no shortage of stunning , in fact, one of them has been named the best in the world thanks to its pristine waters and untouched beauty, but with so many beaches to choose from, deciding where to soak up the sun can be tricky.
With the UK often experiencing unpredictable and rainy weather, making the most of our beaches here can be hit and miss. That's why for many Brits, getting guaranteed sunshine is one of the top requirements when it comes to booking a holiday abroad. In fact, new research from the travel company Saga Holidays found that 68% of UK respondents consider beach temperatures a key factor when choosing a holiday, and used this to find Europe's sunniest and warmest beach.
Looking at the average temperature across both the high and low seasons, and the daily hours of sunshine, one Turkish beach came out as Europe's sunniest and warmest, scoring 95 out of 100.
If you're looking to bask in uninterrupted sun, Fethiye's Ölüdeniz Beach receives a daily average of 10 hours and 26 minutes of sunshine, which is a whole five hours more than the UK average. Temperatures still reach a balmy 19C between November and April, and the peak season sees highs of 32C.
The beach is famed for its stunning blue lagoon, which is part of the Ölüdeniz National Park. While there's a fee to enter the park, a strip of pebble shore at the edge of the beach is free for visitors.

A peaceful escape surrounded by a stunning mountainous backdrop, there's also ample opportunity for adventure-seekers, with plenty of paddle boards available to rent if you feel like venturing away from a sunlounger, and even the chance to go paragliding.
Speaking of the beach, one Tripadvisor user said: "Probably the best beach I have visited in Turkey at this stage. In most of the parts the water is deep, in the paid part it's shallow, but in every part the colours are breathtaking."
Along the paid part of the beach, showers, toilets and cafes are available to visitors, with sun loungers and umbrellas available for less than £1.
