"I will be uploading all sorts here from some of my favourite shots and matches to me cooking to me meeting and chatting to some interesting people. Hope you guys enjoy it!!"

By Friday lunchtime, he had posted two shorts on the platform, with the first one showing him potting some balls on the practice table, and the second one showing fans a behind the scenes look at a typical day in his life.

O'Sullivan has a massive profile in the world of snooker and away from the table so will have a huge opportunity to grow his YouTube following over the coming years.

He is likely to use the channel to showcase his prodigious snooker abilities and will surely also offer his advice to keen amateur players.

The 49-year-old's second short focuses heavily on his daily cooking habits, so he may choose to offer cooking inspiration to his followers. And his dogs could well feature prominently.

O'Sullivan could also follow in the footsteps of Hendry, who has won a joint-record World Championships alongside the Rocket.

Hendry uses his YouTube channel, which boasts almost 375,00 subscribers, to interview other snooker stars and sportspeople.

Kyren Wilson, Ali Carter and Stan Moody have all featured on the Scotsman's channel, with Gary Lineker also joining Hendry in one video earlier this year as the former Match of the Day presenter discussed his life and career.

O'Sullivan would be able to attract some of the biggest names in sport to appear on his YouTube channel if he wanted to move in that direction. So there could be plenty of entertaining content to keep his fans amused in the coming months.
