The much-loved Tamil film Tourist Family is out on OTT and audiences have embraced it with open arms. The comedy drama starring M. Sashikumar and Simran in lead roles was released on the silver screens on May 1 2025. Audiences who have missed it on theatres can now enjoy watching it at home on Jio Hotstar. Tourist Family is set against the harsh backdrop of Sri Lankas economic crisis. It follows the journey of a Tamil family striving to survive and dreaming of a better future. Helmed by Abishan Jeevinth and bankrolled by Nazerath Pasilian Magesh Raj Pasilian and Yuvaraj Ganesan the film earned positive feedback from critics and audiences alike for its emotional depth and realistic characters. Besides earning positive reviews Tourist Family also became a commercial success becoming the 5th highest-grossing Tamil film worldwide this year. It joined the list of other highest grossers of 2025 like- Vidaamuyarchi Dragon Good Bad Ugly and Retro. According to industry tracker Sacnilk Tourist Family made a total business of Rs 84 crore worldwide and Rs 53 crore in India against the budget of Rs 16 crore. After dominating silver screens Tourist Family continues to trend Number 1 on OTT. Moreover the IMDb rating of Tourist Family is 8.5/10. The film stars Sasikumar Simran Mithun Jai Sankar and Kamalesh along with impressive supporting cast that includes Yogi Babu M.S. Bhaskar Ramesh Thilak and others.
