Technology sector veteran Microsoft is once again in the headlines, but this time the reason is not very good. The company has recently fired more than 300 employees. This trimming has come to light after a large layoff of 6,000 employees made a few weeks ago, which has intensified the stir in the tech industry.
Company gave cleaning
Microsoft spokesperson issued a statement saying, “We continue to implement the organizational changes required to bring the company into the best position in a dynamic market.” The spokesperson clarified that this trimming is also part of the company’s strategic decision, so that future plans can be implemented effectively.

Employment equations changed due to increasing use of AI
The impact of AI in technology companies is increasing rapidly. Large companies like Microsoft and Meta are using AI-assisted coding tools, which has increased the software development work much more than ever.
Salesforce also recently revealed that the internal use of AI has helped them to work with less employees.
Which posts affected?
Software engineers were the most affected in the last time trim. However, this time the employees of which department have been affected, it has not been officially confirmed.
Significantly, till June 2024, Microsoft had about 2,28,000 full time employees, of which 55% were working in the US.
