AAP's Strategy for Bihar Elections

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up to participate in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for later this year. The party plans to contest all available seats, laying the groundwork for its campaign in the state. Under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, AAP is working to establish its presence in Bihar ahead of the elections. Notably, the party has opted not to join the Grand Alliance with RJD, Congress, and leftist parties, recently rejecting a collaboration with 16 other components of the India bloc regarding a special parliamentary session, and instead sent a separate letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the matter.

Campaigning and Outreach Efforts

In its efforts to connect with voters, AAP is actively organizing party workers and promoting the Delhi development model across Bihar. Rakesh Yadav, the state president of AAP, is leading a seven-phase campaign that commenced in April, covering a significant portion of the state's geography. Ajay Yadav, in charge of AAP in Bihar, noted that many residents from Bihar are currently in Delhi and have witnessed the progress made by the AAP government in various sectors, including education, health, and infrastructure. The party has a strong foothold in Purvanchal, and both party workers and the general public are eager for AAP to contest the elections, prompting preparations to strengthen their organizational presence in the state.

Independent Approach to Elections

Yadav emphasized that there are no plans to reach out to RJD or Congress for an alliance. He stated, "AAP has its organizational strength and public support. The local party unit aims to contest the assembly elections independently. Therefore, we are preparing for all 243 seats in Bihar." He claimed that AAP already has organizational units established in every district and assembly constituency, with booth-level units set to commence operations soon.

Engaging with Voters in Delhi

Additionally, AAP is reaching out to Purvanchali voters in Delhi, encouraging them to inform their families back home about the developmental achievements of the AAP government in the national capital. This initiative was launched in response to the BJP's efforts to connect with the migrant Bihari population through various programs across the country on Bihar Day, celebrated on March 22.
