Cambodia and Thailand have mutually adjusted their immigration regulations, reducing the permitted stay for citizens of the other country to seven days.
Thailand issued an order on Sunday reducing the maximum stay for Cambodian citizens from 60 days to just seven days, according to Police Lieutenant General Veasna Sok, Director-General of Cambodia’s Immigration Department, as quoted by the Khmer Times.
Cambodia has imposed a similar measure, shortening the stay for Thai nationals to seven days and requiring them to exit the country to obtain new visas as well, Nation Thailand reported.
For Thai citizens entering Cambodia by land, the stay has been cut from 14 days to seven days for passport holders, and from 15 days for border pass holders, said Nikorndej Balankura, spokesperson for Thailand’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, at a press conference on Monday, as cited by the Bangkok Post.
It remains unclear how long the reciprocal visa measures will remain in place, as neither country has specified a timeframe.
