The senior Indian team will kick off its tour of England with a four-day red-ball match against India A, starting June 13 at the Kent County Cricket Ground in Beckenham.
The match provides a crucial chance for selectors and coaches to assess form and fitness in traditional Test conditions—especially post the high-intensity IPL season.

India A, captained by Abhimanyu Easwaran, features promising names such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Dhruv Jurel, who will serve as vice-captain and wicketkeeper. Meanwhile, the senior Indian side will be led by Shubman Gill, with Arshdeep Singh, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja looking to find rhythm ahead of the England Test series.
In contrast to Tushar Deshpande, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel have been included in both the India A and senior Indian squads for the England tour, allowing them the flexibility to feature for either side in the intra-squad match.
