Banks across India will not operate today, Saturday, June 14, 2025, in line with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) prescribed holiday schedule. As per RBI guidelines, all banking institutions remain shut on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, along with all Sundays. On the other hand, banks function normally on the first, third, and fifth Saturdays, if any.
This recurring pattern is followed nationwide and ensures uniformity in banking operations across both public and private sector banks. Customers planning any in-branch banking today are advised to reschedule their visits to a working weekday or an open Saturday.
Upcoming Bank Holidays In June
Bank holidays in India can also vary across states due to different regional and cultural celebrations. While weekend closures apply uniformly, additional holidays are observed based on each state’s official calendar. Therefore, individuals are encouraged to check with their respective branches before heading out, especially if they reside in states with unique local holidays.
Following today’s closure, the next bank holiday is scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025. Beyond regular weekend offs, banks in specific states will remain closed on the following days:
June 27 (Friday) – Ratha Yatra / Kang (Rathajatra): Banking services will be unavailable in Bhubaneswar and Imphal.
June 30 (Monday) – Remna Ni: Banks in Mizoram will remain shut.
Banking Services Still Available Online
Even when physical bank branches are closed, most banking operations continue seamlessly through digital channels. Customers can access services like fund transfers via NEFT and RTGS, request chequebooks, or apply for demand drafts through online platforms.
Card-related services, including the usage of debit, credit, and ATM cards, also remain fully operational. Additionally, tasks such as setting up standing instructions, applying for lockers, and submitting account maintenance forms can be completed through the internet or mobile banking.
Before planning any in-person visit, customers are advised to refer to the official holiday list shared by their bank or consult the RBI calendar to avoid inconvenience.
