He continued with a laugh: "So I was imagining Pete to turn up looking absolutely dreadful and he had one of my children calling him dad. Stay well away from my family and children Pete." He joked "Or I will choke the life out of you." Standing alongside Tony in the video was radio host Sam Thompson, who is good mates with Pete. This month, Sam impressively raised over £1.5 million for Unicef despite a calf injury, as he endeavoured to deliver the Soccer Aid match ball from London to Manchester before the game.

Fans swamped social media with comments after Soccer Aid posted touching pictures of the encounter. One fan exclaimed: "Crying again just looking at these pictures, Sam you are absolutely the man and Tony is the friend everyone needs in their life, fantastic people."
Tony's personal life tends to remain away from the limelight, but he does share glimpses of his family life in Merseyside where he resides with his wife and four sons - Corey, Cobey, Carter, and Carson. The duo celebrated their union in 2018.
