
Bantwal: A youth who had gone missing two days ago was found dead in a pond in Ammunje, Bantwal taluk, on Monday (June 16).
The deceased has been identified as Sagar (28), a resident of Ammunje. He was employed as a painting worker.
On June 14, Sagar had accompanied his mother to BC Road. While returning around 5 PM, he reportedly got down from an auto near the Benzappadavu Three Roads junction and did not return home afterward. A missing person complaint had been filed at the Bantwal Rural Police Station.
On Monday, Sagar’s body was found in a pond near Vidyanagar High School Road. It is suspected that he may have either slipped and fallen into the pond or died due to substance abuse.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal Rural Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
