If you use any UPI app like PhonePe, Google Pay, or Paytm, then there is good news for you. From today, UPI transactions across India have become faster than ever. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued new guidelines, under which now UPI payment will be completed in just 15 seconds, whereas earlier it used to take up to 30 seconds.
What has changed regarding UPI payment?
Faster payment process: Earlier it used to take 25-30 seconds to send or receive money, now the transaction will be completed in just 15 seconds.
Faster failed transaction status update: If a transaction fails, now you will know in 10 seconds whether the money was deducted or not. Earlier it also used to take 30 seconds or more.
Improved failed transaction handling: Earlier apps had to wait for 90 seconds to know whether the stuck transaction was successful or not. Now this process will be completed in 45 to 60 seconds.
Understand with an example: If you pay ₹500 at a shop by scanning a QR code, then: Earlier this entire process used to take about 30 seconds. Now this entire process will be completed in just 15 seconds from scanning to payment confirmation.
Control over technical problems
If the network fails and the transaction is unable to reach the UPI system, then now the system will automatically declare it as failed. This will eliminate the need for apps to check the status again and again.
