Kajol recently shared insights into her bond with her children, Nysa and Yug , and how the experience of motherhood has transformed over the years. She has been trying to become a good friend to her kids rather than being overly strict and disciplined.

In a conversation with Instant Bollywood, Kajol revealed that she used to tell her daughter Nysa that she would only understand her situation once she became the mother of a girl. However, Nysa responded by saying she would only have sons instead of daughters. “She thinks sons are easy,” Kajol remarked.

Kajol admitted that forging a friendship with one’s children is not always instinctive for mothers. “Being friends with kids doesn’t come naturally to mothers because we devote ourselves to being mothers. We have to try hard to be friends with kids, have those uncomfortable conversations with them, and carry those uncomfortable feelings with us,” she shared.

The ' Do Patti ' actress is committed to creating a space where her children feel safe and heard. She added that she is also a non-judgemental person when it comes to her kids. When asked whether her children speak to her about relationships, she replied, “I hope they can tell me that. My son is young, but my daughter definitely – we do have those conversations.”

Kajol's work front

On the work front, Kajol is gearing up for her upcoming film Maa, a horror drama that is a spin-off from Ajay Devgn ’s 2024 release Shaitaan. The film is set to hit cinemas on June 27.
