

MP Monsoon Update: Monsoon has entered Madhya Pradesh with full force. With the arrival of monsoon, people of the state have got relief from the scorching heat. The mood of the weather is going to change completely on 19 June. The warning of heavy rain, storm and lightning has given a message to people to be cautious. Yesterday, rain drenched many cities and the temperature also dropped.
Weather for the last 24 hours
Rain brought relief to many parts of Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Ujjain, Chambal, Rewa, Jabalpur, Shahdol and Sagar divisions received good rainfall, while Bhopal and Narmadapuram received showers at some places. Indore and Gwalior also recorded light rain. Due to the rain, the temperature dropped by 2.1°C to 3.9°C, especially in Bhopal, Ujjain and Shahdol. Pachmarhi was the coldest, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 15.8°C.
Today’s weather forecast
Today the weather will be most active in the western and eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. There is a possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds with a speed of 50-60 km/hr in Barwani, Jhabua, Dhar, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Sheopurkalan, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Anuppur, Dindori and Balaghat.
Forecast for the next two days
On June 20, heavy rains may continue in Barwani, Jhabua, Dhar, Neemuch, Mandsaur and eastern districts of western Madhya Pradesh like Rewa, Shahdol, Dindori, Balaghat, Singrauli. Winds will blow at a speed of 40-50 km/h.
Monsoon conditions
According to the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon has spread to most parts of Madhya Pradesh by June 18. Its northern boundary is passing through Gwalior, Khajuraho, Sonbhadra and Gaya. Low pressure areas formed in the Bay of Bengal and Rajasthan are further intensifying the monsoon. Monsoon will become active in the entire state in the next 48 hours.

The Meteorological Department has advised to remain alert in view of heavy rains and thunderstorms in districts like Barwani, Dhar, Neemuch, Guna, Singrauli, Rewa, Mauganj, Dindori. Farmers have been instructed to be cautious in the fields and citizens to stay in safe places. Avoid going to open areas due to strong winds and lightning and keep an eye on weather updates.
