Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Aadhaar is bringing a major relief for the card holders. Now you will not have to stand in long queues for Aadhaar updates or go round the Aadhaar service centers.
UIDAI is preparing to launch a new mobile app, which will be available on your smartphone by November 2025. Through this app, you will be able to make the necessary changes in your Aadhaar Card at home easily. This initiative will not only save time, but will also make the process of Aadhaar updated even more secure and user-friendly. Let’s know in detail about this new facility.
Aadhaar update from home
This new app of UIDAI is a major step towards empowering the base holders. Through this app, you will be able to easily update the name, address, date of birth, gender and other demographic information in your Aadhaar Card. In terms of security, an OTP (one-time password) will be sent to your registered mobile number for Aadhaar update.
Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that your registered mobile number is active and available with you. This feature will be particularly beneficial for those who are unable to go to the base center due to the busy lifestyle.
Preparation to make database more smart
UIDAI is constantly working to further strengthen its technical system. The authority has so far linked around 2,000 machines to its database, and the remaining 98,000 machines have been targeted to be added before November 2025. After this technological progress, almost all changes will be made through the Aadhaar Card holder app.
In addition, the Aadhaar database is being linked to other important services like birth certificate, driving license and passport. This will increase the accuracy and reliability of data, making Aadhaar an even more effective identity card.
When will the base center have to go?
After the launch of the new app, the need to go to the base center will only be for biometric data (fingers) and iris (eye pupil) updates. All other changes, such as names, address, date of birth, or gender, you will be able to do it from home. This facility will not only save time, but will also reduce the crowd at Aadhaar centers. Currently, the process has to be completed with a fee of Rs 50 at the Aadhaar center for mobile number, email ID, biometric data, or photo updates. But this mess will end in the new system.
Aadhaar: Your identity, your responsibility
Aadhaar Card, this 12 -digit unique number, today has become synonymous with the identity of every person in India. This is necessary not only to avail government schemes, but has become mandatory for banking services, mobile SIMs, and many other works. According to the rules of UIDAI, every person is required to update their Aadhaar every 10 years.
In addition, it is mandatory for children to update the BLUE AADHAAR on 5 years and then before the age of 15. This ensures that the information recorded in the base database is always accurate and updated.
