A Look at Rahul Gandhi's Relationship Status Over the Years
The timeline of Rahul Gandhi's thoughts on marriage is intriguing!
In 2013, he expressed concerns about becoming a status-quoist if he settled down and had children, stating, “If I get married and have children, then I will become a status-quoist and will be concerned about bequeathing my position to my children.”
Fast forward to 2023, and his perspective seems more relaxed: “When the right girl comes along, I will get married. I mean if she comes along, she comes along. It will be good.”
By 2024, he mentioned, “I don’t plan it, but if it happens…”
As of 2025, Rahul Gandhi remains the Most Eligible Bachelor in India, with no marriage in sight.
As he celebrates his 55th birthday, the question of his marital status resurfaces—Will he marry? Is he still resonating with Cliff Richard’s tune, “Bachelor Boy,” which reflects on love and remaining single? The future remains uncertain, and he has not provided much clarity on this topic.
What is evident, however, is that he has a plethora of admirers. Bollywood star Ameesha Patel has been a long-time supporter, describing him as “extremely cute,” “well-educated,” and “dynamic.” Her admiration dates back to 2001 when she openly declared him a ‘desirable match’ on Simi Garewal’s talk show. Patel continues to uphold her view, labeling him as “the most eligible bachelor in politics.”
Should he take the plunge into marriage or not?
To explore this question further, we consulted several celebrities to gauge their opinions on the future of India’s most eligible bachelor. The responses were mixed!
“I don’t think Rahul Gandhi should get married. He can remain single and concentrate on his political career. With so many responsibilities, balancing personal and professional life would be challenging,” said Rinhee Suberwal.
On the other hand, Shivangi Verma believes, “Rahul should get married. Shaadi ka ladoo he must eat at least once. Ultimately, it’s his choice to have a life partner or not. Ideally, he should marry someone professional.”
Conversely, Gaurav Saxena remarked, “Rahul Gandhi shouldn’t get married. The concept of marriage and societal norms have evolved. He can focus on his political endeavors.”
