Magnitude 4.8 earthquake strikes off coast of Türkiye’s Bodrum

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Friday off the coast of Bodrum, a resort town in southwestern Türkiye, according to regional seismic reports.
The quake was centered around Greece’s Cyclades Islands in the Aegean Sea. Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency, or AFAD, said the earthquake occurred near Yamurgi Island at approximately 7:19 p.m. local time..
AFAD reported the tremor was located 124.22 kilometers from Mugla’s Bodrum district at a depth of 7.0 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
