New Delhi: On the foundation day of the Chintan Research Foundation, Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani on Friday said that the think tank will largely focus on crucial issues like climate change, equitable energy transition, the evolving global economy, critical supply chains, dynamic trade relations, and the overreaching geopolitics that shape the future of the world. He stated that CRF should work in a manner which would help India in becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Giving details about the working style of Chintan Research Foundation, Pranav Adani said it is a think tank that has been formed to focus on the three particular sectors – economy and trade, geopolitical issues in India, and energy transaction.

Speaking at the event, he stated that a research foundation has a lot of responsibilities and Chintan Research Foundation will focus on three things — climate change, trade and geopolitics.

Geopolitical Focus: India’s Role in a Changing World Order

Addressing the foundation day event of Chintan Research Foundation, Pranav Adani said, “The CRF must imagine, and re-imagine, the role that India can play in shaping the future, especially of the Global South. This scale of transformation is required for India to realise its full potential and become Viksit Bharat by 2047, as envisioned by our Honourable Prime Minister.”

The Adani Enterprises Director further added that the Chintan Research Foundation’s research will focus on crucial issues like climate change, equitable energy transition, the evolving global economy, crucial supply chains and dynamic trade relations, and geopolitics that shape the world’s future.

“For three decades now, the Adani Group has been driving growth and accelerating innovation by entering the toughest and most critical infrastructure sectors of our nation. We see the Chintan Research Foundation working on the same lines, entering critical areas of research, deliberation, recommendation and impact while upholding independence and editorial integrity,” he said.

The Adani Enterprises Director emphasised that India is not only Delhi or the metro cities but India lives in the heartland. He assured that the conglomerate’s focus will not be limited to Delhi and other metros, also regions like Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar or the Northeast.

“The 1.4 billion people that we have are our real asset…50 per cent of the economy is engaged in the growth of the GDP, and the other 50 per cent is passive. Now that has to really come into focus and I think that’s when the real Indian growth story will happen and I’m very optimistic. We as a group are very optimistic,” he was quoted by IANS as saying.

Pranav Adani assured that the company is concerned for the safety and security of the projects of the Adani group as tensions in the Middle East rise due to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict. He, however, assured that at present all our assets abroad are safe.

Expressing his views, President of the Chintan Research Foundation, Shishir Priyadarshi said, “Pranav Adani gave a very inspirational and directional message to all of us. We have to convert that message into action now. Chintan Research Foundation cannot be limited to a big city like Delhi. India has many such cities. India has many such regions. Each region has a very different population and a very different concern in problems and we have to ensure that CRF reaches out in every Indian region before looking abroad.”

Amitabh Kant on Chintan Research & India’s Growth

Meanwhile, Amitabh Kant, ex-Niti Aayog CEO said he was delighted to deliver the First Foundation Day address of the Chintan Research Foundation. He called for Think Tanks in India to be fearless in thought and rigorous in method in his speech.

Speaking at the Chintan Research Foundation event, Kant emphasised on the growth aspects of India, saying in order to be a 30 trillion economy by 2047, the country needs to grow at 8-10 percent annual growth for three decades. He said it is possible, as this feat has been achieved by countries like China, Japan, and South Korea. He opined that India’s development story is being scripted by the latest feats India has achieved in 5 key important sectors like Infrastructure, Artificial intelligence, Digital Innovation, green energy initiatives, and Startups.
