

The first Test match between India and England continues on 20 June at the headingley ground in Leeds. By the end of the first day, the Indian team scored 359 runs losing three wickets in their first inning. Shubman Gill (127) and Rishabh Pant (65) are unbeaten. Shubman Gill unbeaten on 127 runs
Shubman Gill faced 175 balls in his 127 -run innings. It consisted of 16 fours and a six. At the same time, Rishabh Pant made six fours and two big shots in 102 balls. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal also made a brilliant start and completed the century by scoring 101 runs.
The start of the Indian innings was strong on the first day. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal shared a 91 -run partnership for the first wicket. Rahul was dismissed for 42 runs, which he scored in 78 balls. Debutant Sai Sudarshan had to be dismissed without opening an account off Captain Ben Stokes.
Great and Shubman’s best batting

This was the first half-century as Shubman Gill’s captain-batsman. He became the youngest Indian player to do so as a Test captain at the age of 25 years and 285 days.
Before the tea break, Yashasvi scored 101 runs in 144 balls, including 16 fours and a six. His and Shubman’s partnership for the third wicket was 129 runs. After their dismissal, Shubman and Pant jointly strengthened the innings.
In the second session, Shubman completed 100 in 140 balls, while Pant crossed the half -century in 91 balls. With this, India was able to end the day with firmness. Team India launched Sai Sudarshan (317th Test player of India) at number three in this match. Apart from this, Karun Nair and Shardul Thakur have also got a place in the playing XI.
