Prominent Turkish journalist Fatih Altayli was detained from his residence in the Sisli district of Istanbul, Turkish media reported Saturday.
According to information obtained from security sources, Altayli was taken into custody on the instruction of the Prosecutor’s Office as part of an ongoing investigation, Turkish media outlet Haberturk reported.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the reason for his detention, and no formal charges have been announced.
Altayli is a well-known columnist and former television host, recognized for his critical commentary on Turkish politics and media.
