Bcci age verification program: Cricket gentlemet and clean game are considered to be a game, but then this game has been facing cases of age- cases from time to time. But now it will not be easy. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has changed the age verification program (AVP) to prevent age fraud. From this year, the BCCI will allow a bone test for the players whose ‘bone age’ is higher than the fixed limit. This will ensure that no player is deprived of playing additional sessions.
What is this process?
Till now the BCCI has been conducting bone tests for boys between the age of 14-16 years. According to the current rule, a player’s ‘bone age’ is added one more year after it surfaced. Based on this increased age, that player is allowed to play in the age -based cricket tournament. For example, if a player’s ‘bone age’ is 14.8, it is increased to 15.8. According to this ‘bone age’, the player becomes eligible to play the next session in under-16 cricket.
What changed?
Now under the new age verification program (AVP), if a player is under 16 years of age according to his ‘birth certificate’, he will be allowed to conduct a second ‘bone test’. If his age is found less than 16 years after the test, he will be allowed to play in the next season. A similar process will also be adopted for girls in the age group of 12-15.

The common belief is that ‘bone test’ cannot be considered 100 percent correct, this can also be a reason for conducting a second test. The rule of conducting a second Test has been approved in the BCCI meeting held last week. Let us tell you that this test is done through X-rays and the players have to go through this test before every domestic season.
