India’s richest singer, charges Rs 15 lakh per concert, still doesn’t own a house, name is…, not AR Rahman, Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Diljit Dosanjh

Known for his soulful voice and energetic stage presence this celebrated singer once captivated the small screen by joining a reality show hosted by Bollywood’s beloved superstar. While his appearance stirred conversations in 2018 it’s his musical journey that truly defines his legacy. With a fan base that spans continents he commands packed arenas and delivers unforgettable live performances which have earned him the title of Bhajan Samrat. The Bhajan Samrat Of Singing Community Here we are talking about renowned singer Anup Jalota popularly referred to as Bhajan Samrat who was born on July 29 1953. He began accompanying his father Purshottam Das Jalota who also sang bhajans at the tender age of 7. Over time Anup became one of the most renowned bhajan singers in India. Some of his most iconic bhajans include Aisi Laagi Lagan Main Nahi Makhan Khayo Rang De Chunariya Jag Me Sundar Hai Do Naam and Chadariya Jhini Re Jhini. His extensive record sales of bhajan albums have led to a significant net worth. According to Bharat Ojha who manages his financial affairs Anup earns nearly Rs 2 crore each month as he revealed to Dainik Bhasakr in 2018 regarding his concert earnings both domestically and internationally. He mentioned that Anup typically charges between 8 to 10 lakh rupees for performances in India which usually last between 45 minutes to an hour. His team consists of six members: five musicians and one female singer. On average they perform 12 to 15 concerts in India each month translating to earnings that range from 20 lakh to 1 crore rupees. For international shows Anup charges around 15 to 16 lakh rupees per concert and does 3 to 4 concerts monthly. He is particularly popular in countries with a large Indian diaspora and the demand for his performances there is substantial contributing to an estimated monthly income of 60 lakh rupees from abroad. Anup Jalota’s Personal Life Anup Jalotas personal life has also attracted attention due to his three marriages. In a 2024 interview with The Times of India Anup discussed his marital history stating Sonali (Sheth) was my first wife but we faced difficulties leading to the end of our marriage. Im happy she found a new partner in Roop Kumar Rathod. My second marriage to Bina (Bhatia) lasted only a year due to our differences and a lack of understanding between us. After experiencing lessons from these two unsuccessful marriages I finally married Medha (Gujral) and we enjoyed a happy 21-year marriage. We have a son Aryamann who resides in New York. Sadly Medha battled health issues and passed away in November 2014. Since Aryamann lives in New York and does not stay with him the bhajan singer has sold all his properties and currently owns no home in India. The 71-year-old artist has expressed in several interviews that he wishes to spare his son the burden of dealing with the formalities of selling his fathers house after his death. Anup Jalota also participated in Salman Khans Bigg Boss 12 in 2018. He was evicted from the show after surviving for 6 weeks.
