

AI114, an international flight in Air India, suddenly turned to Riyadh on the morning of 21 June when the aircraft threatened to get a bomb. This flight was coming to Delhi from Birmingham (UK) and there were hundreds of passengers on it. On receiving the information about the danger, the pilot diverted the aircraft towards Riyadh Airport, where all the passengers were safely removed.
Reacting to this emergency, a spokesman for Air India said that the safety of the passengers is paramount and all necessary investigations have been completed. Passengers have been held in the hotel and alternative arrangements are being made to reach them to the destination.
Threatened note found near toilet
According to sources, flight AI114 which was a Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 aircraft found a paper near the toilet, in which the bomb was written. As soon as this note was received, the cockpit crew immediately took a decision and diverted the aircraft towards Riyadh and the aircraft was closely examined under the security protocol there.
Passengers were held in hotel
After reaching Riyadh, all the passengers and crew were removed from a safe aircraft. They have been accommodated in a local hotel and an alternative flight is being arranged for Delhi. Air India has regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers. The Air India spokesperson said that we are sorry for the inconvenience caused to the passengers due to this unexpected disruption. Alternative arrangements are being made for their safe journey.
