
A Unique Art Competition on International Yoga Day
New Delhi: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Fine Line Art Academy and Sudarshan Foundation jointly hosted the grand 'Ashtanga Art Competition' on June 21, 2025, in Pandav Nagar, New Delhi. This event was centered around the eight limbs of yoga (Ashtanga), aiming to provide participants with a platform to express the significance of yoga through art. Over 80 participants, ranging from young children to those over 18 years old, took part in this competition, which was divided into four groups.
Winners Across Different Age Groups
In Group A (Classes 1 to 4), Gyanash Uppal secured the first position, followed by Kamya in second place, while Divit, Sanvi Kaurav, and Devansh Arora shared the third spot. Group B (Classes 5 to 9) saw Anveshika Mishra take the top honor, with Vishakha in second and Suchitra Mahendran along with Anushka Chauhan sharing third place. In Group C (Classes 10 to 12), Riya Sami emerged as the winner, with Anish Sharma in second and Vaibhav Raj and Shivam Verma in third. Group D (18 years and above) awarded Nandita Mandal the first prize, while Manasi Parihar and Sarla Kumari took second place, and Bhumi Ahuja, Anamika, and Shivani Chauhan secured third.
Recognition and Future Aspirations
At the conclusion of the competition, medals were awarded to the winners, and all participants received certificates of participation. The award ceremony featured notable attendees, including Akanksha Kashyap, founder of Prime Academy, Ashish Deshmukh, founder and director of Fine Line Art Academy, Jayunta Deshmukh, chairperson of Sudarshan Foundation, and Snehal Deshmukh, executive head of Fine Line Art Academy.
A Platform for Creativity and Cultural Awareness
During the event, Ashish Deshmukh expressed that the competition was aimed at showcasing the beautiful synergy between yoga and art, receiving an overwhelming response. He credited the enthusiasm and creativity of the participants and committed to organizing an even larger event next year. Snehal Deshmukh added that this was not just an art competition but a means to spread positive energy and cultural awareness in society. The competition was entirely free to enter and open to individuals of all ages, providing a platform for artists from diverse backgrounds.
Community Appreciation and Future Plans
Local residents of New Delhi, along with participants and their parents, praised the organizing committee's efforts, noting that such competitions not only highlight talent but also enhance awareness of art, culture, and yoga within the community. The organizers expressed their commitment to hosting more creative and cultural initiatives on a larger scale in the future.
