Dengue Fever:

Chikungunya:
Transmitted by infected Aedes mosquitoes, chikungunya is characterised by high fever, severe joint pain, headache, rash, and muscle aches. Painkillers and proper rest ease the condition.
Prevention Measures During Monsoon
Keeping oneself healthy in the rainy season is one very important tip. The rise in humidity and stagnant water may increase the chances of the infections, though monsoon diseases can be prevented if precautions are taken on time.
- Personal Hygiene: Wash hands often and refrain from touching your face with dirty hands. Keep yourself dry and change wet clothes early to prevent fungal infections.
- Drink Clean Water: Drink boiled or filtered water to avoid waterborne illnesses. Refrain from street vendor water.
- Eat Home-Cooked Food: Don't consume street food. Eat fresh, properly cooked food and thoroughly wash fruits and vegetables.
